In 2020, Anastasiia Fedorova collaborated with Kaleidoscope Magazine, Spazio Maiocchi and Valentino Garavani on a digital event and editorial project with Russian architect and interior designer Harry Nuriev.

Anastasiia contributed to talent scouting, pre-production and coordination of the multimedia project produced in Moscow. In an editorial captured by Russian photographer Sasha Chaika, we see Nuriev as a contemporary flâneur, exploring locations that speak to his early inspirations in Soviet architecture and Russian “bad taste”. Chaika’s photo series provides the jumping-off point for a conversation between Nuriev and fellow Russian curator Anastasiia Fedorova, which takes place in a unique 3D environment especially designed by Nuriev for the occasion.

In times when our reality is a hybrid of real, virtual and augmented, Nuriev’s instantly recognisable style and bold use of colour—most prominently his signature, saturated evocative blue—capture the essence of what we truly yearn for when we enter spaces: comfort and stimulation, clarity and calm, connection and a personal story.

During the interview, which Anastasiia conducted as an animated digital avatar, she talked to Nuriev about the role of private and public spaces in times when our reality is a hybrid of real, virtual and augmented.
